Now there is no doubt that Kanye West is the essence of the urbane, smart, creative, talented citizen that encapsulates the spirit of this blog and its two writers. Yeezy is also (arguably) THE most influential style icon of this new century from his pink polos and diamond studded chains to his slim cut Dior Jeans and limited edition Nikes. The man is a walking stylistic paradox, high fashion but yet and still connected to his hip-hop roots. Speaking of his sartorial genius (or insanity depending on your perspective) we turn to Yeezy's foray into the fashion industry. He has several projects in progress including his upcoming Pastell clothing line and his highly anticipated footwear collaboration with none other than the incomparable luxury giant; Louis Vuitton. The picture above is one model of a sneaker/boatshoe that Yeezy designed and Louis Vuitton produced. Now, I'm not really one for white shoes; sneakers or otherwise and I'm really a proponent of shoes staying in one category i.e. if Yeezy wanted to make a boatshoe, then make a traditional boatshoe but that's just me. My personal preferences aside, one can really see the craftsmanship and detail Louis Vuitton is known for combined with the high-fashion influences and streetwear comfortability that comprises Yeezy's style. A very brave and creative foot forward for Mr. West and I applaud him for contributing to the high fashion scene from the perspective of a hip-hop fan and a black male. Now, all of you out there in Urbane Society; YOU be the judge....
