The New PSP Go

Sony presents its latest version of their gaming handheld - the PSP Go. It is not just a small update, but a completely new device, now sporting a slide-out mechanism, hiding the controls of the gaming console beneath the screen. The Playstation Portable Go! comes with a 3.8″ screen, 16 gigabyte of memory, Bluetooth, a 43% loss in weight and it comes without the UMD drive. All games and movies can be directly charged onto the flash memory of the device, via the PSN Store. We cannot wait to see it live!

Say it Ain't So!!!

News leaked a while back about the return of the True Blue Air Jordan III, and the images that hit the web earlier this week ended all the They Say. We got word yesterday that the TB Air Jordan III will be an international release only. That’s exactly what the e-mail said folks.

Star Trek. To boldly go where no man has gone before...

I know it’s early. It’s not even June for cryin’ out loud, but I will say this. Star Trek is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It may be the best movie of the summer. I know it might be a bit too soon for it, but I’m going to stand by my opinion (at least until Transformers and G.I. Joe come out). This film is a milestone for the entire Star Trek Franchise. It has loads of action with a bit of sci-fi that makes it a perfect movie for the summer. Director J.J. Abrams (who did Cloverfield and the TV show Lost) pretty much killed it in this one. This guy knows what he’s doing when it comes to great stories with dynamic characters, so trust, I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

Now I know some of you are bitching and moaning about not understanding sci-fi movies and you assume that because you aren’t fans of the series that you wont know what is going on. FALSE. There is no need to read up on Star Trek folklore (although I did, I’m a nerd like that) and there is enough action and awesome stuff to tie you over. You will truly be remiss if you don’t check this one out. First off, the action sequences are out of control. In the first 10 minutes, even before you see the title of the film you are going to be blown away. I wont tell you what happens though, its pretty much a catalyst to the story. In one sequence James Kirk (played by the brutally hot Chris Pine – He was in the Princess Diaries 2 if some of you boys needed a refresher), Mr. Sulu (played by John Cho – Harold of Harold and Kumar to my stoners out there), and some no name guy (he didn’t quite make it through the whole scene) free fall through the atmosphere to dismantle a drill that is destroying the Vulcan planet. It was the most exhilarating moment in any film I have ever seen.

Of course we can’t forget about Zoe Saldana. How beautiful is she?! Gorgeous even. She could stand to eat a burger, but that’s not the point. She steals the show as the point of the love triangle that arises between Captain Kirk and Spock. You will be surprised at who gets the girl. Who would have thought in the future so many guys would be diggin’ the chocolate. Mommy Like!

All in all, it was a terrific movie. The plot got a little confusing when it comes to the time-travel storyline, but you guys are smart. You’ll get past it. Star Trek is a fantastic movie that is worth a full price movie ticket.

Star Trek is rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours 12 minutes.

IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Watch

When a watchmaker produces watches for expeditions we tend to pay attention. Take this IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Watch developed for “David de Rothschild and his crew during the four-month Plastiki expedition across the Pacific Ocean.” The blue and orange colors, which are signatures of the Plastiki expedition, are bold enough to rock all Summer long. You’ll find this 46mm automatic in an edition of 1,000. IWC rocks.

Allow Me To Introduce Myself...

Summer is the best time of year. Not because school is out (for many of us) or that we finally get to break out that perfect sundress we've been dying to show off. For me, its the movies that make three months of heat and humidity completely bearable. For some reason, this summer seems to be THE summer of movies. It has been a long time since so many highly anticipated films have hit theaters.

Eventually, you'll learn my style. The name doesn't lie. I am pretty cutthroat and I'm not into a whole lotta bullshit. You can trust me and my opinions on movies. I'm privately and personally trained in the art of film and popular culture. From time to time, I may get a little girly on you, but like a bad stomachache, it will pass. I may not see every movie that comes out, but I will be able to recommend some great movies that you may have always heard about, but you have never had the chance to catch in theaters.

As always, please feel free to refute my opinions. I may be a tyrant, but I do listen to the cries of my subjects :)

Enjoy!

Man vs. Machine Autumn/Winter 2009

Man vs. Machine is an emerging line that “represents individuality that interconnects with a modern age.” The line, based in New York models their wears on figures that accentuate the name of the brand. Flight an rider jackets fill the collection with patent leathers that remain in a color palette of dark greys, blues, reds, and black. Worth a look.viaSelectism.More looks when you hit the link below.

Cool Quote of The Week

Asher Roth- Sour Patch Kids

Verse 2
my people crying, and be dining, they be dining in the hours,
drinking wine with their wives like everything is fine
denying that they fightin for the their lives,
every night to survive since the beginning of time
aye-yai-yai
cant believe the evil that feeds off this so called American dream
lies in the seat make all the Americans seem like blood-sucking money hungry fiends
but money doesn't mean
a damn thing to me
i just want to be
i want to be free
but unfortunately a fortune is what you need
cause the fortune 500s run the country
its one company
if your not a company
would you mind grabbing me a cup of tea?
if we go hungry, in our own country
i wonder whats its like living in Hungry
yeah, it isn't funny, but its coming
its about to get ugly
streets turn to a game of rugby

Thousand Words Campaign: 20

Ghosting by Escarondito

This world is filled with ghosts
Who willingly lay down their lives
Removes retaliation
To merely sit and cry
To everyone, and anyone
But in reality, nobody cares
Your just somebody disembodied
Speaking in the air
I would implore you
But better yet I dare
Exit from your ghosting
And make a person care
Join into a movement
Create something from thin air
Ignite your soul and wonder
How you ever sat and stared
Engage your peers, spread the fire
Until all are burnt like toast
Burn down self-made containment
Save a generation of ghosts

P*ssy in My Lap

The Air Jordan III “True Blue” colorway is arguably one of the most favorite sneakers in any sneakerhead’s collection. The shoe’s colorway has become iconic and a number of Nike sneakers have been influenced by it. Now fast forward to 2009 and the shoe will make another return to Jordan Brand retail shelves. This is the second time around that we are seeing this shoe retroed. Without too many changes made to the original, this Jordan Brand Retro is sure to put a smile on some people’s faces. There is no set release date for now, but stay tuned for more updates.

Girls Like Baseball Too!!!

Incorporating a respect of baseball design through the meticulous weaving and durability of baseball gloves and baseballs itself, Japanese designer Hikaru Matsumura took these inspirations rather literally in the creation of his “The Unique Bag” collection. While the large scale bags may be too closely tied to their baseball roots, the other items such as small coin pouches and pencil cases are a little more figurative and present themselves as a nice balance between innovation and interpretation. One of his most interesting philosophies is that he feels as though numerous bag offerings are often too straight and square in shape and wanted to incorporate more curvatures into the overall aesthetic.

Talk about left field!

Thanks HypeBeast!
