Remembering JFK, Jr. 10 Years Later

On July 16, 1999, a small airplane flown by John F. Kennedy Jr, went down in the Atlantic Ocean en route to Martha's Vineyard. Kennedy, his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren were killed in the crash ten years ago while heading to a family wedding.

A son of Camelot, JFK Jr was afforded first class education (he attended Brown and NYU Law), high profile connections (his father was the President), and the opportunity to run a "politics-as-a-lifestyle" magazine called GEORGE. Though known by women the world over for his dashing looks and charm, he spent significant amounts of time in India trying to eliminate poverty and even spent time with Mother Teresa.

Although his life was cut short, he gave of himself through community service and charitable donations. With his magazine he mixed politics and fashion making it easily accessible for those who may not focus on it otherwise.

Thank you for your service to our country and your commitment to the community. John F. Kennedy, Jr. is sorely missed.
