Credited for his works in conjunction with designers George Nelson and Charles & Ray Eames, Alexander Girard established a new notion of what fabric design is during his tenure at the furnishing company Herman Miller. With the recent revival in the popularity of American contemporary design, so has the interest with Girard’s work. This includes Japan’s MEDICOM TOY CO. and design lifestyle label STITCH.
As part of a special collection in commendation of MEDICOM TOY Exhibition ’09, MEDICOM TOY and STITCH will release a new version of the International Love Heart BE@RBRICK. In the large 1000% form, the all red BE@RBRICK features International Love Heart inscription, by Alexander Girard, in white. The MEDICOM TOY x STITCH - International Love Heart 1000% BE@RBRICK will be available starting on July 4th at STITCH flagship in Daikanyama, Tokyo.
